چکیده
Furanoate polyesters are emerging as promising bioderived polymers that could replace petrochemical-derived in several applications, for example, the textile field. Here, sustainable and fully fibers wet-spun by blending poly(lactic acid) (PLA) poly(pentamethylene 2,5-furanoate) (PPeF), with up to 50 wt% of PPeF. PLA/PPeF blends result immiscible, PPeF domains homogeneously distributed within PLA matrix, shown scanning electron micrographs. The immiscibility is confirmed differential calorimetry, glass transition temperature unaffected poor adhesion between responsible decrease stress at break elongation from 30.1 MPa 127%, fibers, 3.5 1.9%, high amounts. However, addition strongly decreases PLA's tendency absorb water retain processing solvents, showing a mass loss 3.1% 1% containing PPeF, thereby addressing one main drawbacks PLA. These results, although preliminary, offer new directions future works on innovative based furanoate polyesters.

Transparent conductive graphene textile fibers
Transparent and flexible electrodes are widely used on a variety of substrates such as plastics and glass. Yet, to date, transparent electrodes on a textile substrate have not been explored. The exceptional electrical, mechanical and optical properties of monolayer graphene make it highly attractive as a transparent electrode for applications in wearable electronics. Here, we report the transfe...
متن کاملFibers for Textile - Based Electrical Energy Storage
This research will demonstrate feasibility for manufacturing fiber-based ceramic capacitors suitable for electrical energy storage within multifunctional textile products. Capacitive energy storage is well matched to applications requiring high specific power, long cycle life, and high reliability. We are using a simple chemical scheme for preparing fiber-based capacitors by coating electricall...
متن کاملEvidence Value of Textile Fiber - Transfer and Persistence of Fibers.
Fibers comprise probably the most common form of trace evidence in forensic science today. They occur in perhaps one-quarter of all cases that involve trace evidence and a large majority of crime laboratories routinely characterize textile fibers. Although a great deal of research has been done on how to best characterize and compare fibers, relatively little time has been spent on determining ...

متن کاملColor Matching of Blends Prepared From Black and White Fibers by Neural Networks (TECHNICAL NOTE)
The color of the blends of pre-colored fibers depends on the ratio of each fiber in the blends. Some theories have been introduced for color matching of blends of pre-colored fibers. Most however, are restricted in scope and accuracy. Kubelka and Munk presented the most applicable theory, which is still used in industry. In this work, the classical Kubelka-Munk method for color prediction of a ...
